The North Island gives you Auckland, the glowworm caves of Waitomo, the Hobbiton movie set and the geothermal valleys and Māori culture of Rotorua. Then fly to Christchurch and drive the South Island's most scenic road past turquoise Lake Tekapo and Aoraki/Mt Cook to Queenstown, where four nights leave room for the Milford Sound cruise, a gondola sunset and as much bungee or jet-boating as you dare.

Frequently asked questions

Do Indians need a visa for New Zealand?

Yes, a Visitor visa applied online. Processing is usually 3–5 weeks. We provide the checklist, review your application and attach a detailed itinerary.

Can we self-drive?

Yes. NZ drives on the left like India. You can use a valid English-format Indian licence with an International Driving Permit. Mountain roads are narrow, so we keep daily drives under 4 hours.

What if Milford Sound is cancelled due to weather?

Heavy rain can close the Milford road. We try the next day; if that is not possible, we refund the cruise or swap it for a Doubtful Sound or scenic-flight alternative.

Is this good for a honeymoon?

It's one of our favourite honeymoons. We can upgrade to lakeview rooms, add a private wine tour in Gibbston and include a helicopter glacier landing.

Is there vegetarian food?

Auckland, Rotorua and Queenstown all have Indian restaurants, and vegetarian food is widely available. Smaller towns have limited choice, so we stock snacks for the drive days.
