About this Tanzania & Zanzibar trip
This is Africa's classic safari-and-beach combination. From Arusha you head into Tarangire, famous for its elephant herds and baobabs, then two full days on the endless plains of the Serengeti, home to the great wildebeest migration and Africa's highest density of lions. A descent into the Ngorongoro Crater offers one of the best chances of spotting black rhino. After the dust of the safari, fly to Zanzibar to explore the Swahili lanes of Stone Town — with its strong Indian-Gujarati heritage — and unwind on the white-sand beaches of Nungwi.
The great migration, the Ngorongoro Crater and white-sand beaches on the Indian Ocean.

Frequently asked questions
Do Indians need a visa for Tanzania?
Yes. Indian passport holders apply for the official Tanzania e-visa online (about USD 50, single entry). The same visa covers Zanzibar, which is part of Tanzania.
Do I need a yellow fever vaccination?
Yes, in practice. India's health authorities require proof of yellow fever vaccination from travellers returning from Tanzania, so take the vaccine at an authorised centre at least 10 days before departure and carry the certificate.
When is the best time to see the great migration?
The herds move all year: calving in the southern Serengeti around January–February, and the dramatic Mara River crossings in the northern Serengeti from about July to September. We adjust the camp location to your travel month.
How do I fly to Tanzania from India?
Air Tanzania flies Mumbai–Dar es Salaam directly; most safari itineraries fly into Kilimanjaro via Nairobi, Doha, Dubai or Addis Ababa, around 10–13 hours in total.
Is the safari suitable for families?
Yes, for children aged about 6 and above. Game drives are long, so we build in rest time and use family-friendly lodges with pools.
Is vegetarian food available on safari?
Yes. Lodges and camps cook to order with advance notice, and Zanzibar has many Indian restaurants thanks to its long Indian community history.
