About this Khajuraho & Orchha trip
Between 950 and 1050 CE the Chandela kings built around 85 temples at Khajuraho, and the 20-odd that survive are covered in some of the finest sculpture in India — gods, dancers, warriors and the famous erotic panels. Two nights in Khajuraho cover the Western, Eastern and Southern groups with a licensed guide, the evening light-and-sound show and the canyon at Raneh Falls. You'll then drive to Orchha, a riverside town of 16th-century Bundela palaces and chhatris where Lord Ram is worshipped as a king.
UNESCO-listed Khajuraho temples, Raneh Falls and Orchha's palaces, cenotaphs and Ram Raja temple on the Betwa.

Frequently asked questions
Are the Khajuraho sculptures suitable for children?
The erotic panels make up only a small share of the carvings. Most families visit without any issue, and our guides keep the explanations age-appropriate.
How do we reach Khajuraho?
Khajuraho has a small airport with limited flights from Delhi and Varanasi, and a railway station with trains from Delhi and other cities. Jhansi, near Orchha, is on the main Delhi–Bhopal line.
Is Raneh Falls worth visiting in dry months?
Yes. Even when the water is low, the red, grey and green granite canyon is striking. After the monsoon (August–October) the falls themselves are at their best.
Can we add a tiger safari?
Panna Tiger Reserve is about 30 km from Khajuraho and is open from October to June. We can add a morning or afternoon jeep safari for an extra cost, subject to permit availability.
