Frequently asked questions

Which visa do I need for France?

A short-stay Schengen visa, applied through the French consulate's VFS centre. We provide the itinerary, hotel and flight documents and a checklist. Apply 6–8 weeks ahead.

Is Paris safe?

Yes, but pickpocketing is common around the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Metro. Use a zipped crossbody bag and keep your passport in the hotel safe.

Can we find vegetarian food?

Yes. Paris has a large Indian restaurant scene around Gare du Nord, and most cafés offer vegetarian options. Ask for 'végétarien'.

Is Giverny open all year?

Monet's house and gardens open from early April to the start of November. In winter we replace the Giverny trip with a guided Montmartre and Le Marais walking tour.

Is this suitable for a honeymoon?

Very much so. We can upgrade you to an Eiffel-view room and add a candlelight dinner on request.
