Is there a dress code at the Vatican?

Yes. Shoulders and knees must be covered for both men and women, or you may be refused entry to St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel.

How much walking is involved?

Quite a lot — 12–18 km on some days, and the Cinque Terre involves stairs. That is why this trip is rated moderate. Seniors can skip the Cinque Terre day and rest in Florence.

Will vegetarians manage?

Easily. Margherita pizza, pasta al pomodoro, risotto and gelato are everywhere, and Rome, Florence and Venice all have Indian restaurants.

Can we add the Amalfi Coast?
