About this South India Temple Tour trip

South India's temples are some of the grandest on earth — soaring gopurams, thousand-pillared halls and rituals unchanged for centuries. This eight-day pilgrimage starts with Srivari darshan at Tirumala, drives south to the Chola masterpiece of Brihadeeswarar at Thanjavur and the vast Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam, then spends two nights in Madurai for the Meenakshi Amman temple and its night ceremony. It crosses the Pamban bridge to Rameswaram's Jyotirlinga and its 22 theerthams, and ends with sunrise at Kanyakumari, where three seas meet.

Frequently asked questions

How do we get Tirumala darshan tickets?

Special Entry Darshan (₹300) tickets are released online on the TTD website about three months ahead and sell out quickly. We help you book the moment your dates are fixed; Aadhaar is mandatory.

What is the dress code at Tirumala?

Traditional attire is required for darshan: dhoti or kurta-pyjama for men, and saree or churidar with dupatta for women. Western wear such as jeans and shorts is not permitted in the darshan queue.

Are non-Hindus allowed inside the temples?

Most temples on this route allow everyone into the outer corridors, but some restrict the sanctum. At Tirumala, non-Hindus sign a declaration of faith. Our guide will explain the rules at each temple.

What are the 22 theerthams at Rameswaram?

They are 22 holy wells inside the Ramanathaswamy temple. Pilgrims are drenched with water from each before darshan. Carry a change of clothes; the bath takes about an hour.

Can we start by road from Hyderabad?

Yes. Tirupati is about 560 km from Hyderabad. We can add a pickup from your home in Hyderabad for an extra charge.
