About this Coorg Weekend trip
Coorg (Kodagu) is Karnataka's coffee country — rolling hills of robusta and arabica shaded by silver oak and pepper vines. This weekend starts with a drive from Bengaluru or Mysuru to a plantation resort near Madikeri. You'll walk through a working estate to see how coffee goes from cherry to cup, watch the sunset at Raja's Seat, stand in the spray of Abbey Falls and visit the Omkareshwara temple. Day two takes you to Dubare elephant camp on the Kaveri and the golden prayer hall of Namdroling Monastery at Bylakuppe, one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India. Evenings are for Kodava pandi curry, akki roti and a fire by the verandah.
A relaxed 2N/3D plantation stay with Abbey Falls, Raja's Seat, Dubare elephants and Namdroling.

Frequently asked questions
How do we get to Coorg from Hyderabad?
Fly or take an overnight train/bus to Bengaluru; our car picks you up from the airport or station. Mysuru is another good starting point.
Is Abbey Falls good all year?
It's at its best from July to November. In late summer the flow drops but the coffee and pepper surroundings are still pretty.
Is it suitable for kids?
Yes — drives are manageable and Dubare elephants are a big hit. The plantation resort usually has a play area.
Can we get vegetarian food?
Certainly. Kodava cuisine is famous for pork, but resorts serve South and North Indian vegetarian food at every meal.
