About this Kailash Mansarovar trip
The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is the ultimate pilgrimage — a journey across the Tibetan plateau to Mount Kailash, revered as the abode of Lord Shiva, and the sacred waters of Lake Mansarovar. We run it via Kathmandu on the shorter Nepalgunj–Simikot–Hilsa route: small-aircraft and helicopter hops replace days of driving, and there are two acclimatisation nights at Purang before you reach the lake. At Mansarovar you perform puja and havan on the shore, then begin the three-day outer parikrama of Kailash from Darchen, crossing the 5,630 m Dolma La pass. A Hindi-speaking yatra leader, Sherpa crew, oxygen cylinders and pure vegetarian meals are with you throughout, and we handle the Tibet Travel Permit and Chinese group visa through our Kathmandu partner.

Frequently asked questions
How fit do I need to be?
The parikrama crosses 5,630 m and involves about 52 km of walking over three days. Start walking 5–7 km a day and doing breathing exercises at least two months ahead. A medical fitness certificate is required, and ponies and porters are available.
Can Indian passport holders go via Nepal?
Yes. Indian nationals can travel via Nepal with a licensed operator. The Chinese group visa is issued in Kathmandu and requires your original passport, so we collect it on Day 1. Rules, fees and age limits are set by the Chinese authorities and can change; we confirm current requirements when you book.
Can I bathe in Lake Mansarovar?
Under current local rules, bathing directly in the lake is not permitted. Pilgrims perform puja on the shore, collect Mansarovar water and take a holy bath with it. Our priest leads the rituals.
What if I can't complete the parikrama?
Many pilgrims complete only Yam Dwar or Day 1. You can rest at Darchen with a crew member and rejoin the group when it returns. Darshan of Kailash is possible from the lake and from Darchen.
How is this different from the MEA's Kailash yatra?
The Government of India's yatra runs via Lipulekh or Nathu La through a lottery and takes about 3 weeks. Our private yatra via Nepal can be booked directly, takes 12 days and uses flights and a helicopter to save time.
What happens if flights are delayed by weather?
Simikot flights and the helicopter are weather-dependent, so we build buffer into the schedule. Extra nights caused by delays are paid locally, which is why we recommend keeping 2 spare days.
