About this Jim Corbett National Park trip
Founded in 1936 as Hailey National Park, Corbett is India's oldest national park and still one of the best places to see wild tigers and elephants. This short break is designed for Delhi-NCR families and friends: drive up on a Friday, stay at a jungle resort near Ramnagar on the Kosi river, head out on two Gypsy safaris into different zones, and be back home by Sunday night. Between drives there is the hilltop Garjiya Devi temple, Corbett Falls and lazy afternoons by the pool.
A quick escape from Delhi: two Gypsy safaris in Corbett's tiger country, the Kosi river and Garjiya Devi temple.

Frequently asked questions
Which safari zones are open when?
Bijrani and Garjiya usually open mid-October, Dhikala mid-November, and all core zones close around 15–30 June for the monsoon. Jhirna and Dhela remain open year-round, so a monsoon trip is still possible.
Is a tiger sighting guaranteed?
No. Corbett has a healthy tiger population but sightings depend on luck, zone and season. March to June, when water is scarce, gives the best odds.
How far in advance should we book?
Permits are released online by the Uttarakhand forest department and popular zones sell out quickly for weekends and holidays. Book 30–45 days ahead to get your preferred zones.
Can children go on safari?
Yes. There is no minimum age for Gypsy safaris. Each Gypsy takes up to 6 guests plus driver and guide.
Can we stay inside the park at Dhikala?
Dhikala forest lodges are run by the forest department and sell out within minutes. We can try on request at a supplement, but cannot guarantee rooms.
