About this Yadadri, Bhadrachalam & Basara trip
Telangana's biggest pilgrimages are spread across the state, and this four-day circuit from Hyderabad covers them without overnight buses. Yadadri (officially Yadagirigutta again since 2024) was rebuilt in carved black granite and reopened in 2022, with the cave shrine of Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at its heart. From there you head to Warangal for the Thousand Pillar temple and Bhadrakali, and to the UNESCO-listed Ramappa temple before reaching Bhadrachalam on the Godavari, where Bhakta Ramadasu built the temple of Sita Ramachandra Swamy in the 17th century. Nearby Parnasala marks where Sita is said to have been taken by Ravana. The last day takes you north to Basara, one of India's few Gnana Saraswati temples, where families bring children for Aksharabhyasam, their first writing of letters.

Frequently asked questions
Is it Yadadri or Yadagirigutta?
Both refer to the same temple. The name Yadadri was used after the temple's reconstruction; in 2024 the Telangana government restored the original name Yadagirigutta for the temple and town.
Are phones allowed inside?
Phones are not allowed in the main sanctum at Yadagirigutta and Bhadrachalam. Lockers are available near the entry.
What is Aksharabhyasam?
It is the ceremony where a young child (usually 2–5 years old) writes their first letters in front of Goddess Saraswati. Tickets are bought at the Basara temple counter; mornings are least crowded.
Can we skip Basara to make it shorter?
Yes. Without Basara the trip becomes 2 nights and 3 days, ending in Hyderabad on Day 3. We'll reprice it accordingly.
