About this Canadian Rockies & Vancouver trip
The Canadian Rockies have some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the world, and this trip covers the essentials at a pace that leaves time to enjoy it. You base yourself in Banff for three nights to ride the gondola up Sulphur Mountain and see the glacier-fed blues of Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Then you drive the Icefields Parkway, often called the most beautiful road in Canada, past Peyto Lake and the Athabasca Glacier to Jasper and Maligne Lake. The return west crosses British Columbia via Mount Robson and Kamloops to Vancouver, a city of mountains, ocean and Stanley Park, which also has a large Indian community.
Turquoise Moraine and Peyto lakes, the Banff Gondola, the Icefields Parkway to Jasper and a finale in Vancouver.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get a Canada visa?
Indian passport holders need a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), applied online with biometrics at a VFS centre. Processing can take several weeks, so apply 3 months before travel. If you hold a valid US visa, check whether you qualify for an eTA instead.
Can we drive our own car to Moraine Lake?
No. Since 2023 Parks Canada has closed the Moraine Lake road to private vehicles. Access is by Parks Canada shuttle or licensed tour bus, and we pre-book your shuttle seats.
Will we see bears?
Often, especially in early summer on the Icefields Parkway and around Jasper, where grizzlies, black bears, elk and bighorn sheep are often seen from the road. Sightings can never be guaranteed.
Is this suitable for senior citizens?
Yes. Most viewpoints are a short walk from the car park, and the glacier visit uses a specially built vehicle. Peyto Lake has a 10-minute uphill walk, which is paved.
What are the flight options from India?
Air India flies Delhi–Vancouver nonstop, and other airlines connect via Europe or the Gulf. From Hyderabad expect one stop and a total journey of 20–24 hours.
