About this Bhutan trip
Bhutan measures success in happiness, and it shows. Pine-clad valleys, prayer flags and cliffside monasteries set the pace for an unhurried journey. Two nights in Thimphu cover the giant Buddha Dordenma and the capital's dzong; cross Dochula Pass and its 108 chortens to Punakha, where the most beautiful dzong in the country sits where two rivers meet. Finish with two nights in Paro and the hike to Taktsang, the Tiger's Nest, clinging to a cliff 900 m above the valley. A licensed Bhutanese guide and private driver travel with you, and we arrange your entry permit and Sustainable Development Fee.
The Tiger's Nest monastery, fortress dzongs and the Land of Gross National Happiness.

Frequently asked questions
Do Indians need a visa for Bhutan?
No. Indian citizens need an entry permit, issued on arrival against a valid passport or voter ID. We pre-arrange it along with your hotels and the Sustainable Development Fee.
How hard is the Tiger's Nest hike?
It's a steady 4–6 hour round trip climbing about 900 m to roughly 3,100 m. Anyone in reasonable health can do it at a slow pace; ponies can carry you up to the halfway cafeteria.
What is the dress code at dzongs and temples?
Shoulders and knees must be covered and hats removed. Bhutanese wear a scarf in dzongs; visitors simply dress modestly. Photography is not allowed inside temples.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. Bhutanese food features vegetables, rice and the famous ema datshi (chilli and cheese). Hotels also serve Indian dal and sabzi. Jain meals can be arranged with notice.
Can I use Indian rupees?
Yes. The ngultrum is pegged to the rupee and Indian notes are accepted everywhere (carry ₹500 and smaller). ATMs are limited outside Thimphu and Paro.
