About this Jordan Holy Sites trip
Jordan holds some of the most important sites of the Old and New Testaments. Stand at Bethany Beyond the Jordan (Al-Maghtas), the UNESCO-listed site where John the Baptist baptised Jesus, and renew your baptismal promises at the river. Look out over the Promised Land from Mount Nebo, where Moses saw Canaan before his death, and see the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in Madaba's St. George's Church. Float in the Dead Sea, follow the ancient King's Highway past Kerak castle and spend two nights in Petra to walk the Siq to the Treasury and climb to the Monastery. A night under the stars in Wadi Rum and Roman Jerash complete a journey that can easily be combined with the Holy Land.
Baptism Site of Jesus, Moses' view from Mount Nebo, the Madaba mosaic map and Petra.

Frequently asked questions
Do Indians need a visa for Jordan?
Yes, but it is simple. Indian passport holders can get a visa on arrival or apply online. Buying the Jordan Pass before arrival and staying at least three nights waives the visa fee; the Pass is included in this package.
Can we enter the Jordan River at Bethany?
Yes. At the baptism site you can step into the river at the designated platform, renew your baptismal promises and collect water. The far bank is the West Bank, a few metres away.
Can we combine this with the Holy Land?
Yes. From the Dead Sea it is a short drive to the King Hussein (Allenby) Bridge into Jerusalem and Bethlehem. Indian passport holders need a separate Israeli visa; we arrange both tours together subject to travel advisories.
Is Petra hard for seniors?
The walk to the Treasury is about 2 km on a gentle downhill path, and horse-carts are available for seniors. The Monastery climb of about 800 steps is optional.
Is Jordan safe to visit?
Jordan is one of the most stable and welcoming countries in the region. We monitor Government of India advisories closely and adjust or postpone departures if needed.
