About this Oman trip
Oman is the Gulf's most authentic destination and one of the closest international holidays to India, with nonstop flights from more than a dozen Indian cities. Muscat is calm and elegant, from the marble halls of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque to the Muttrah Corniche and souq. Head down the coast to swim in the turquoise pools of Wadi Shab, spend a night in a desert camp in the Wahiba Sands after a dune drive, then climb to the historic town of Nizwa and its great round fort before returning to Muscat. Short drives and a large Indian community make it ideal for families.
Arabian heritage, emerald wadis and a desert camp — just three hours from India.

Frequently asked questions
Do Indians need a visa for Oman?
Yes. Indian passport holders apply for the tourist e-visa through the Royal Oman Police portal; we help with the application. Holders of a valid US, UK, Schengen, Canada, Australia or Japan visa may qualify for easier entry. We confirm the current rules at booking.
Are there direct flights from India?
Yes, many. Oman Air, SalamAir, IndiGo and Air India Express fly nonstop to Muscat from cities including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi and Kozhikode, in about 2.5–3.5 hours.
Is Wadi Shab suitable for non-swimmers?
The hike to the first pools is fine for anyone reasonably fit. Reaching the hidden cave needs swimming through a few deep pools; life jackets can be arranged, or non-swimmers can relax at the shallower pools.
Is Oman good for families with children?
Very. It is safe, drives are short, desert camps are family-friendly and the beaches are calm. Dune driving can be toned down for young children.
Is vegetarian and Indian food easy to find?
Yes. Oman has a large Indian community and Muscat, Sur and Nizwa all have Indian restaurants, many of them vegetarian.
